Goodmorning Disciples of Jesus Christ. We pray everyone is having a wonderful Lent with Our Lord and offering mortifications and sacrifices and spending more time with Him in prayer. We are continually getting closer and closer to big events and there is no time to waste on anything else but spending time with God and offering up reparations for the sins of humanity in these days prior to the Warning. Our Priest at our Church said it best when he said, “Make it the best Lent for Jesus, as if it was the last time of Lent that you spend on earth.” We have been trying to do this in our household, but for me it never seems like enough. As we continue to pray for Our Lord to make us worthy of all of His promises, let us reflect on the Book of Joel and understand that God always chastises and purifies His Children because of His love for us. However, His big chastisement is His last effort to change us after He has sent His Prophets to warn us and get us to repent and repair the damage, we have committed against Him as a whole through sin. You might ask yourself, why do some good people have to suffer for the sake of others because of all of our sins? This is because God always uses His Children to assist Him in saving souls because it allows our souls to be sanctified through the process as we are praying for others who are currently blinded by their own sins. When it comes to God using His Prophets, their souls are also sanctified for speaking the word of God in a warning to all of God’s created. In the whole Book of Joel, we see that Our Lord never changes because He loves us, and when we have strayed too far into sin, He has to intercede to save the most souls, or else all souls would be lost. Those of us that have eyes to see and ears to hear because of the graces from the Holy Spirit are seeing these same steps of Repentance, Penance, and Reparation in order for Our Lord to turn us back to His Sacred Heart and fulfill the Promises He has in store for those that either remain Faithful to Him or turn back to Him in Repentance and fully away from sin, which restores us back to God and rightfully orders us under His Divine Shelter as He tells us in Psalm 91. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2091&version=NABRE.
As we look at all three Chapters in the Book of Joel, let us all reflect on ourselves in this time of Lent to see if we have eradicated all of the sins in our own lives, and how we can assist Our Lord now for the salvation of all souls that do not have the eyes to see or the ears to hear God speaking to their hearts.

Here is Joel, Chapter 1, and as we can see Our Lord chastised His people with famine, but then He sent the Prophet Joel to tell His people to Repent and how they must see that we must always remain rightly ordered to God Our Creator! If we do fall into sin, we must ask God for His forgiveness and cry out to Him for His Divine Mercy.
Chapter 1
1 The word of the Lord which came to Joel, the son of Pethuel.
I. Announcement of Unprecedented Disaster
2 Listen to this, you elders!
Pay attention, all who dwell in the land!
Has anything like this ever happened in your lifetime,
or in the lifetime of your ancestors?
3 Report it to your children.
Have your children report it to their children,
and their children to the next generation.
4 What the cutter left,
the swarming locust has devoured;
What the swarming locust left,
the hopper has devoured;
What the hopper left,
the consuming locust[a] has devoured.
5 Wake up, you drunkards,[b] and weep;
wail, all you wine drinkers,
Over the new wine,
taken away from your mouths.
6 For a nation[c] invaded my land,
powerful and past counting,
With teeth like a lion’s,
fangs like those of a lioness.
7 It has stripped bare my vines,
splintered my fig tree,
Shearing off its bark and throwing it away,
until its branches turn white.
8 Wail like a young woman[d] dressed in sackcloth
for the husband of her youth.
9 Grain offering and libation are cut off
from the house of the Lord;
In mourning are the priests,
the ministers of the Lord.
10 The field is devastated;
the farmland mourns,[e]
Because the grain is devastated,
the wine has dried up,
the oil has failed.
11 Be appalled, you farmers!
wail, you vinedressers,
Over the wheat and the barley,
because the harvest in the field is ruined.
12 The vine has dried up,
the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate, even the date palm and the apple—
every tree in the field has dried up.
Joy itself has dried up
among the people.
Cry Out to the Lord
13 [f]Gird yourselves and lament, you priests!
wail, ministers of the altar!
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
ministers of my God!
For the grain offering and the libation
are withheld from the house of your God.
14 Proclaim a holy fast!
Call an assembly!
Gather the elders,
all who dwell in the land,
To the house of the Lord, your God,
and cry out to the Lord!
15 O! The day![g]
For near is the day of the Lord,
like destruction from the Almighty it is coming!
16 Before our very eyes[h]
has not food been cut off?
And from the house of our God,
joy and gladness?
17 The seed lies shriveled beneath clods of dirt;[i]
the storehouses are emptied.
The granaries are broken down,
for the grain is dried up.
18 [j]How the animals groan!
The herds of cattle are bewildered!
Because they have no pasture,
even the flocks of sheep are starving.
19 To you, Lord, I cry!
for fire has devoured the wilderness pastures,
flame has scorched all the trees in the field.
20 Even the animals in the wild
cry out to you;
For the streams of water have run dry,
and fire has devoured the wilderness pastures.
Then in Joel Chapter 2, a more severe Chastisement is given to God’s people because they are not listening to God’s Prophets. Hmm, does this sound familiar to what is happening in our time today? Notice how the Prophet Joel compares God’s Army to Locusts? Because we don’t have the mental imagery to compare what God’s Holy Legions of Angels would look like when bringing chastisement to the earth, we get the comparison of Locusts tearing through everything and devouring it to its roots. Wow, kind of like what fire might do to the earth if it rains fire from Heaven like it did in Sodom and Gomorrah! However, Our Lord again, calls us to Repentance because He loves us and wants us to be with Him eternally. He continues to have His Prophet preach His Holy Word to His people that if they just Repent and turn back to Him, then they would be blessed and receive all of His promises of a prosperous generation! Does this also sound like what God is calling each of us to do through Lent? Are we truly trying to mortify all of our attachments to sin and praying for God’s blessing and graces to assist us in our reparations for our sins? Are we giving God our best Lent ever in our daily prayers and mortifications and making reparations for the sins, offenses and sacrileges of others against the Holy Trinity? Notice in verses 13-17, Joel is telling us to rend our hearts and not our garments and He will spare us the chastisement and give us His blessing!
II. The Day of the Lord
Chapter 2
The Day Approaches
1 [a]Blow the horn in Zion,
sound the alarm on my holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming!
Yes, it approaches,
2 a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of thick clouds!
Like dawn[b] spreading over the mountains,
a vast and mighty army!
Nothing like it has ever happened in ages past,
nor will the future hold anything like it,
even to the most distant generations.
3 Before it,[c] fire devours,
behind it flame scorches.
The land before it is like the garden of Eden,
and behind it, a desolate wilderness;
from it nothing escapes.
4 Their appearance is that of horses;
like war horses they run.
5 Like the rumble of chariots
they hurtle across mountaintops;
Like the crackling of fiery flames
devouring stubble;
Like a massive army
in battle formation.
6 Before them peoples tremble,
every face turns pale.
7 Like warriors they run,
like soldiers they scale walls,
Each advancing in line,
without swerving from the course.
8 No one crowds the other;
each advances in its own track;
They plunge through the weapons;
they are not checked.
9 They charge the city,
they run upon the wall,
they climb into the houses;
Through the windows
they enter like thieves.
10 Before them the earth trembles;
the heavens shake;
Sun and moon are darkened,
and the stars withhold their brightness.
11 The Lord raises his voice
at the head of his army;
How immense is his host!
How numerous those who carry out his command!
How great is the day of the Lord!
Utterly terrifying! Who can survive it?
Return to the Lord
12 Yet even now—oracle of the Lord—
return to me with your whole heart,
with fasting, weeping, and mourning.
13 Rend your hearts, not your garments,
and return to the Lord, your God,
For he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love,
and relenting in punishment.
14 Perhaps he will again relent
and leave behind a blessing,[d]
Grain offering and libation
for the Lord, your God.
15 Blow the horn in Zion!
Proclaim a fast,
call an assembly!
16 Gather the people,
sanctify the congregation;
Assemble the elderly;
gather the children,
even infants nursing at the breast;
Let the bridegroom leave his room,
and the bride[e] her bridal tent.
17 Between the porch and the altar[f]
let the priests weep,
let the ministers of the Lord weep and say:
“Spare your people, Lord!
do not let your heritage become a disgrace,
a byword among the nations!
Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?’”
The Lord Relents. 18 Then the Lord grew jealous[g] for his land and took pity on his people. 19 In response the Lord said to his people:
I am sending you
grain, new wine, and oil,
and you will be satisfied by them;
Never again will I make you
a disgrace among the nations.
20 The northerner[h] I will remove far from you,
driving them out into a dry and desolate land,
Their vanguard to the eastern sea,
their rearguard to the western sea,
And their stench will rise,
their stink will ascend,
What great deeds the Lord has done!
21 Do not fear, O land!
delight and rejoice,
for the Lord has done great things!
22 Do not fear, you animals in the wild,
for the wilderness pastures sprout green grass.
The trees bear fruit,
the fig tree and the vine produce their harvest.
23 Children of Zion, delight
and rejoice in the Lord, your God!
For he has faithfully given you the early rain,[i]
sending rain down on you,
the early and the late rains as before.
24 The threshing floors will be full of grain,
the vats spilling over with new wine and oil.
25 I will repay you double
what the swarming locust has eaten,
The hopper, the consuming locust, and the cutter,
my great army I sent against you.
26 You will eat until you are fully satisfied,
then you will praise the name of the Lord, your God,
Who acts so wondrously on your behalf!
My people will never again be put to shame.
27 Then you will know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I, the Lord, am your God, and there is no other;
my people will never again be put to shame.
Lastly, here is Joel, Chapter 3. We see that not only does God judge His people, but He also judges the Nations. This is the same warning God gives us in the Book of Isaiah in Chapter 34. God will punish those that go against Israel and His chosen people. This is written all through the Old Testament, and this includes all of His Children grafted into His branches, which are also His Children. Are we seeing God’s Children attacked violently now including being murdered for their Faithfulness? Look at what is happening to the Christians in Syria.
As we look at ourselves this Lent, trying to work on our own souls. Let us all make reparations for all of the sins of humanity being committed against the Holy Trinity and make reparations for the whole world because sin has taken on a whole new level of evil now because Peace has already been removed from the Earth. The whole world is going through the Purification at this time and our daily sacrifices for God, no matter how small, are not only bringing us closer to His Sacred Heart through being sanctified, but we could be also mitigating the coming chastisements against the world and the amount of evil being allowed by God because of our amount of unprecedented sin. However, God’s Divine Mercy is coming!
III. The Lord’s Final Judgment
Chapter 3
The Day of the Lord
1 [a]It shall come to pass
I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
2 Even upon your male and female servants,
in those days, I will pour out my spirit.
3 I will set signs in the heavens and on the earth,
blood, fire, and columns of smoke;
4 The sun will darken,
the moon turn blood-red,
Before the day of the Lord arrives,
that great and terrible day.
5 Then everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord
will escape harm.
For on Mount Zion there will be a remnant,
as the Lord has said,
And in Jerusalem survivors
whom the Lord will summon.
As we can read that Our Lord’s Final judgment will come, He will pour out His Spirit and this is happening now all over the world with different people getting dreams and visions, and we also have modern day Prophets such as Father Michel Rodrigue, Father Oliveira, Luz De Maria, Pedro Regis, Manuela Strack, John Leary, and many others warning us on what is coming. In all of their prophetic messages, God is not calling us to fear, but to Repent. This is because He will bring many chastisements to get our attention like He did in the first Chapter of Joel. Then if we continue not to turn back to Him through Repentance, He will allow a chastisement so big to remove the evil and restore His Children in order to save souls because He loves us and will not allow His creation to perish, but transition into His Era of Peace.
