Teachings by Father Mark Goring through TV Food For Life on living Life in the Spirit and Following the Promptings of God and Understanding our Authority To Be Effective Disciples!

Good Morning Disciples of Jesus Christ. We are getting very close to the time when we may lose power, or things may occur to where we will not be able to communicate with each other anymore whether the Warning comes this Fall or we just begin to enter the Purification time period that will include catastrophic weather events. So we are going to sum up in the next couple of days what it is we need to expect that will happen as the Second Pentecost comes to make us the most effective Disciples we can be for our Lord. We have worked on improving our Relationship with Jesus and eradicating our defects with Father Chad Ripperger and understanding the power of prayer. Now, if we have gotten ourselves at least close to the middle or the end of the Purgative way of the Spiritual life, and ready to enter into the Illuminative way, then prayerfully Our Lord believes we are ready to begin receiving multiple gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We need to understand that as Disciples of Jesus Christ at this level, we already have the Authority given by Jesus Christ Himself to us to do the things that His Apostles did at the First Pentecost. If you remain in a state of Grace and continue striving for holiness, and are FILLED with the Holy Spirit enough to understand the Authority that God has already given us under the Name of “Jesus”, then we understand that we have been commissioned by God as His Disciple to serve Him for the Salvation of Souls.

When we have been filled with the Holy Spirit so much, we have an instant understanding of this Authority of Jesus and that is what happened at the First Pentecost when they were baptized with the Holy Spirit in the upper room. Father Mark Goring does an excellent job of teaching us the importance of living “Life in the Spirit”, which means yielding to the Holy Spirit and His promptings and fulfilling the gifts that God has given us for His glory. Every gift we receive is for God’s glory and not for ours. So, to be able to be FILLED with the Holy Spirit, and receive gifts from Him, means that Our Lord believes we are ready to glorify Him to others for the Salvation of Souls. Father Mark gives the example of Saint Philip Neri, https://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=97. St. Philip instantly had a Pentecost moment that Transformed him into a phenomenal servant of God. If we are choosing to become an effective Disciple for Our Lord, this is also what we must do, and this is what Our Lord is preparing us for at the Second Pentecost that Father Michel Rodrigue has prophesied about that will come with the Warning. But, we can also work on our Spiritual lives now in becoming more holy for Our Lord and striving to become Saints FILLED with the Holy Spirit, as we wait for the Second Pentecost.

In Part 2 of Living Life in The Spirit, Father Mark reminds us that we must Surrender to God, to be Transformed in His image by the Holy Spirit. If we do not take this HUGE Step towards God to give Him everything of ourselves and our lives, then we will never make it out of the Purgative way stages of the Spiritual Life and we will never ascend to be FILLED with the Holy Spirit. We may have been confirmed with the Holy Spirit after Baptism, but we will never be completely FILLED with the Holy Spirit if we don’t completely Surrender to Our Lord. As we work on our Relationship with Jesus, we begin to have a better understanding from the Holy Spirit of what this complete Surrender means. In this teaching from Father Mark, he is giving us 4 points to follow in understanding our Authority under the mighty name of “Jesus”. The first is having a Relationship with Our Lord. We have talked about this extensively, because we don’t move out from the Purgative stage of our Spiritual lives if we haven’t advanced in our Relationship with Jesus and purged all of our defects (sins mortal and venial). Father Mark stated in his video, that if we still have sin on our souls, then we receive “No Anointing” or gifts of the Holy Spirit. So, we know the first thing we must do is confess our sins and try to break habitual venial sins and continue to confess them monthly to keep them off. The second point from Father Mark is to listen to the voice of Jesus. We have to learn to become Obedient to God’s voice, which are the promptings of the Holy Spirit. This is a big step for all of us, because once we learn to discern that we are being prompted to get up and pray, or go talk to that homeless person about God, or to stop ourselves from gossiping when the Holy Spirit is telling us we are sinning, then we are beginning to discern His presence and guidance. (This can take time and working on Our Relationship with the Blessed Trinity.) Third point Father Mark gave was detachment from things of this world. Once we seriously begin to detach ourselves from TV, Videos, Movies, Internet, Food, etc.. we begin to see the importance of spending more time with God, and less time on other things that we think, make us physically happy. Father Chad Ripperger explained in his videos that this is a very big step for most people in the Spiritual life and striving for detachment of material things, or things of the flesh, is a part of the step in the purgative way stage that must be conquered to advance into the illuminative way. But, as Father Mark Goring states, this doesn’t mean we stop having fun as he spoke about going to the beach! This means we detach from all of those things that very easily can lead us to temptations of sin. This also includes detaching and surrendering enough to learn that redemptive suffering is working for the salvation of souls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redemptive_suffering. The fourth point Father Mark speaks about in his video is Authority. This is the tricky part that Father Chad Ripperger expressed in his teachings on casting out demons in the name of “Jesus”. Jesus did give us this Authority in Matthew 28:16-20, but we have to know that we are FILLED enough with the Holy Spirit to have a full understanding of this Authority. We can be FILLED enough with the Holy Spirit to do these things, but we better first listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to know we HAVE and UNDERSTAND this Authority. Father Ripperger gave a teaching in understanding our Authority over our families as Patriarchs and Matriarchs that we posted previously in the blog.
